Composer of the Month - J.S. Bach

Our students K-1 are coloring a picture in their notebooks of Johann Sebastian Bach while our older classes 2nd-4th Grade are completing a word search puzzle in their notebooks.  Parents - please check your child's notebook to make sure that they are keeping up with the music assignments!

Students in the 3rd Grades will be working on reading music by learning how to play the Soprano recorder.  Children in classes from Kindergarten through the 4th Grade will be learning to play Choir Chimes. This year marks the first year that the 5th through the 6th graders will be learning Guitars and Handbells.  Students that break a guitar string with need to pay $5.00 to get the string repaired.  This month the students will be centering around tuning the guitar and learning a few songs with a few chords.

Parents - probably one of the best things you can do for your child is to encourage them to listen to music and to show interest in your child's development in the music area.  If possible purchase a CD player or IPod for them to listen to music.
