The Georgia Promise Scholarship Program was created through Senate Bill 233 and signed into law in 2024.

This program offers eligible families up to $6,500 in state-funded assistance to be used toward:

  • Private school tuition and fees
  • Tutoring services
  • Transportation
  • Other approved educational expenses

Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for the Georgia Promise Scholarship:

  • Students must reside in the attendance zone of a low-performing public school, as designated by the state.
  • Students must have attended a Georgia public school for the full school year prior to application.
  • Kindergarten students are eligible regardless of the type of program attended in prior years.
  • Priority is given to families earning under 400% of the federal poverty level based on household size.

Fees Not Covered by Georgia Promise:
Families are responsible for any costs not approved under the scholarship, including but not limited to:

  • Remaining tuition balance beyond the $6,500 scholarship
  • $300 Application Fee
  • $100 Technology Fee (Grades 6–12)
  • School uniforms
  • Lunch program
  • Before- and after-school care
  • Field trips / mission trips
  • Annual yearbook
  • Athletic fees
