The Georgia Promise Scholarship Program was created through Senate Bill 233 and signed into law in 2024.
This program offers eligible families up to $6,500 in state-funded assistance to be used toward:
- Private school tuition and fees
- Tutoring services
- Transportation
- Other approved educational expenses
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for the Georgia Promise Scholarship:
- Students must reside in the attendance zone of a low-performing public school, as designated by the state.
- Students must have attended a Georgia public school for the full school year prior to application.
- Kindergarten students are eligible regardless of the type of program attended in prior years.
- Priority is given to families earning under 400% of the federal poverty level based on household size.

Fees Not Covered by Georgia Promise:
Families are responsible for any costs not approved under the scholarship, including but not limited to:
- Remaining tuition balance beyond the $6,500 scholarship
- $300 Application Fee
- $100 Technology Fee (Grades 6–12)
- School uniforms
- Lunch program
- Before- and after-school care
- Field trips / mission trips
- Annual yearbook
- Athletic fees
