Y.E.S. (Your Essential Service) Program

Active parental involvement is vital to Rock Springs Christian Academy’s success, and the Y.E.S. Program has been established by our school board to encourage every family to participate in building a thriving school community.

Program Requirements:

  • Each family is required to complete 24 hours of volunteer service per year.
  • Single-parent families are required to complete 12 hours per year.
  • At least half of these hours must be completed through participation in school fundraisers to support our programs and special events.
  • A fee of $20 per hour will be charged for any unfulfilled hours at the end of the year.

Logging Y.E.S. Hours

Each family will have an official log, maintained by Mrs. Tracy Bates in the Middle School Office. To ensure accurate tracking, all completed Y.E.S. hours and any applicable receipts must be submitted to Mrs. Bates in person or to yes@rsca.info by May 1, 2026

Volunteer Opportunities:
There are many ways to earn Y.E.S. hours throughout the year, including helping with school events, assisting teachers, supporting athletics, or serving at fundraisers. Watch for announcements about opportunities in newsletters and emails, or contact the school office for current needs.

Y.E.S. Hour Opportunity Ideas
Looking for ways to fulfill your Y.E.S. hours? Here are some common opportunities to get involved:

  • Work at the gate or sell concessions at athletic games and events
  • Assist the PTF for hosted events, teacher appreciation, etc.
  • Contributing requested supplies or AR Goal Rewards to classroom teachers of $20 or more (with receipt provided).
  • 1 Hour will be given to non-staff parents who attend the first PTF Meeting only.
  • Help set up for school events, like Homecoming or the Daddy-Daughter Dance
  • Support RSCA by purchasing items for the library book drives
  • Sell fundraiser items or Auction raffle tickets (check emails for details—e.g., selling 10 tickets could equal 1 Y.E.S. hour)
  • Work or contribute items to the annual auction. This includes obtaining acquisitions prior to the auction.
  • Help teachers in the classroom (e.g., providing one-on-one assistance to students)
  • Assist teachers in creating baskets or grade-level projects for the auction (these hours count as fundraising hours)

Important: When purchasing supplies, whether for classroom projects, AR Goal celebrations, athletic pre-game meals, or other activities—please be sure to submit all receipts. Receipts are required for your contributions to be counted toward Y.E.S. hours. For every $20 spent (with a receipt provided), your family will receive 1 Y.E.S. hour.

Additional Guidelines for Y.E.S. Hours

  • Hours do not carry over from year to year; they must be completed within the school year they are intended for.
  • Y.E.S. hours may not be shared between families.
  • Volunteering for the church and Annual Fund donations do not count toward Y.E.S. hours.

Families are responsible for submitting Y.E.S. Hours via email to yes@rsca.info. Each family will have a log that will be kept by Mrs. Bates in the Middle School office. Once received and approved, the hours will be logged for you.

All Y.E.S. Hour submissions are due by May 1, 2026 to avoid being billed for unfulfilled hours.

No, teachers do not submit or track Y.E.S. hour contributions. Although you will need to check in with a point of contact for the event, each family is responsible for reporting their service hours.

No. To earn Y.E.S. hours for a field trip, you must be personally invited to chaperone by the teacher in advance. Please confirm this with the teacher before attending the trip.

Unfortunately, no. While we truly appreciate and celebrate your servant’s heart, only volunteer hours completed through RSCA school events and programs qualify for Y.E.S. hours.
