Announcements

  • Several of our middle school students were recently named winners of the Patriot's Pen Award. The Patriot's Pen is a VFW sponsored youth essay competition. We had winners from Warms Springs, Macon, Griffin, and Barnesville Posts. These students were recognized at their awards day ceremony along with their teacher, Mrs. Cassie Barrow. Congratulations to these students! 

     

     

  • Our STEAMM Lab recently received a $2,500 grant from The Central Georgia EMC Foundation to benefit our Innovation STEAMM Lab (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Ministry). This foundation uses Operation Round Up to disperse funds to charities and schools like our school.

     

    Our STEAMM lab facilitator, Kelley Sparks, applied for this grant in order to purchase a new camera for the lab's green room where students film weekly news broadcasts and other major projects for their class.

     

    We are extremely grateful for this grant and are excited to continue developing our Innovation Lab to its fullest potential!

  • After only 2 years of having a varsity baseball team, our team has won the GAPPS Division I AA 2023 Baseball State Championship. We are continuing to make advancements in our athletic program each year and are excited to see how the future of our baseball program continues to develop. Way to go eagles!

  • Our high school chorus won 1st place at the Music at the Parks competition in the Single A Mixed Choir category. They celebrated their win with a fun day at six flags together! We are so proud of these students and how hard they have worked to accomplish this win!

  • Our seniors' mission trip to Alaska was a wonderful success. Through multiple projects, these students were able to make an eternal impact on many people and communities. We are looking forward to hearing our students share about what they experienced during this impactful week.

  • We are so proud of our Drama Club for their outstanding performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. What a talented group of students!

  • RSCA recognizes our 2023 GAPPS Literary Meet regional competition participants Kitty Westbury “Argumentative Essay,” Adah Christopher “Rhetorical Analysis Essay,” and Michelle Turner “Personal Essay.” Both Adah Christopher and Michelle Turner were selected as essay finalists in their respective categories and now advance to the state championship. Congratulations to these students!

     

  • Congratulations to our junior, Elie Berndt, who was selected for the GAPPS D1 AAA Ladies Basketball All State Team! We are so proud of you Elie!

  • These high schoolers have completed the construction of their K'nex ferris wheel containing 8,550 pieces! We are so impressed with these talented kids!

  • Congratulations to our Wrestling Team! They finished their inaugural season third in State as a team. Levi George and Shane Perkins won third in their classes. Way to go Eagles!

  • We are pleased to announce Amelia Sexton and Mrs. Delainer Joiner as STAR student and STAR teacher for the 2023 graduating class. We are so proud of Amelia and cannot wait to see how God uses her in her future endeavors.

  • Our students are having a blast on our brand new playground! We want to give a HUGE thank you to all of our families and sponsors who helped make this playground possible. Because of your generosity, our students have been blessed tremendously!

  • We are so proud of our senior, Madison Paulk, who has signed to run track at Huntingdon College in the fall. We cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes with the talent God has given her!

  • The RSCA High School Apologetics Club sponsored a food drive for Impact Ministries in Griffin. These students designed the outreach, promoted it, collected the items, counted them, and delivered everything that was collected. Their goal was to receive 500 items. The generous high school students and families supplied 1,008 items, shattering our goal by double! The students got to see first hand how impactful their caring can be in the expressions of overwhelming gratitude and amazement worn by the staff in Griffin.

  • Congratulations to our senior, Destin Roberts, who has signed to play volleyball at Huntingdon College. She has made RSCA history by becoming our first female athlete to officially sign to play a college sport. We are so proud of Destin and cannot wait to see what God has in store for her future!

  • Congratulations to our high school chorus students who were named the 2022 High School Small Ensemble State Champions at the GAPPS Chorus State Championships. What a talented group of kids! 

  • Congratulations to our 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Kim Watson, who received the Southern Rivers Energy Bright Ideas Grant in the amount of $777.60. The funds will be used for a visit to the Tellus Science Museum where students will learn about the rock cycle and how rocks can change into something new. Students will also discuss, study, and sort specimens into the three major rock types.

  • Don't forget to use GA Goal when filing taxes this year. This program benefits so many students by allowing them to reach their highest potential at RSCA through scholarship opportunities.
